YSL Muse II with Strap ?

Sophisticated and ladylike, top-handle bags are a stylish option for day and night, but how many times have you thought “if only it had a strap”?

The YSL Muse II is a classic top handle style with soft structure which makes it a little less formal. A timeless style, the Muse II looks just as good with a suit as it does with jeans. But they have now made this classic even better, by added an optional strap. Made just long enough to be worn cross body or on the shoulder.

ANCIENT GREEK SANDALS

Ancient Greek Sandals have landed.

According to Ancient Greek myth, the gods and goddesses had their sandals made on the beautiful island of Crete by a gifted sandal maker who enriched each pair with magical powers. Famous for creating the winged flying sandals worn by the Greek god Hermes, the sandal maker embellished his creations with his signature “Golden Wing” buckle.

Designers Christina Martini (who spent a number of years designing shoes at Balenciaga and Louis Vuitton) and Nicholas Minoglou (who heads his family's well established footwear business) combine contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship and inspiration from Ancient Greek mythology and sculpture.

Ancient Greek Sandals are handmade in Greece using natural vegetable tanned leather and traditional techniques that has been passed on through generations and used for centuries. The chemical-free, natural tan leather ages beautifully with time and wear.

A new delivery of Alexander Wang just landed today. There are some new styles which would be just perfect of Christmas.

We’ll start off with the Fumo. It’s a wristlet/miniwallet/pouch.

However you define it, it is something which is a such a great design that you be using it a lot.

Great compact size, fits inside a normal handbag without add too much bulk. Two external zip pockets on EACH side!

Keep coins on one side and you still have the other side for whatever.

Detachable strap. Strap is nicely detailed. Option allows less bulk if you decide to use it as a wallet. Could even use the strap as a key holder.

Look at the interior. One side patch pocket, then in the middle an Interior organization pockets including four card pockets and a gusseted center pocket. Phone on one side and make up on the other.

Cute right? A perfect gift that is sure to be well received.

SS12 marks a change in design for the much loved Giant Hardware line of “motorcycle” bags. The “Giant” or oversized hardware will be replaced with mini versions. Still a tad bigger than the classic brass studs, these new studs have the exact details of the original Giant studs but they will just be smaller. The zips on the bags have also been reduced accordingly.

We just received a new SS12 delivery and we will expecting more bags and shoes next week. Here are some photos of the new hardware and colours…enjoy!

The Proenza Schouler PS11 has landed. This compact shoulder bag is very sleek and avoids the ladylike structured bags cliche with it's amazing signature with double-tab turn-lock grill-fastening tabs and faceted cube detail. The detail is functional too, with the magnetic flap with open to the main compartment. The double-tab turn-lock grill open to a Slip pocket where you can keep the important stuff safe.

I decided to dedicate a post to these beautiful works of art. They really need to be held up in full span to be fully appreciated, something which is always difficult to present in a store environment.

Our talented part-time store photographer Tracy Mortimer from FOCO photography , managed to capture most of the prints so that our customers can view them in their entirety. This was no small feat given that she took them in a room the size of a cupboard and without a studio set up….with just a light, some fishing wire and our basic model work camera.

As fans of the YSL’s signature TribTOO pump, we were excited to receive a new style in this family of classics. FW11 introduces the TribToo Toe cap. With all the hallmarks of a classic, this is an investment buy.

We currently have the ToeCap in Black nappa leather with amazing stitched detailing. The effective heel on these are 105mm, but the actually height is marginally taller than the normal TribToo 105 pump. The classic BB, is a the PERFECT ballerina shape.

We love the patent “Peau” a very pretty ballerina pink.

Ballerinas were featured heavily on the Chloe runway for SS11.

The one shown on the runway have a much higher vamp than the BB style but the BB is more versatile and practical. For those after a higher cut, you should try the “Beauty” style. These are a dance style which do not have a left or right foot, instead they will mould to your foot with wear.

The PANDORA, this isn’t a new style but we have new stock/colours for SS11. Customers either love or hate this style. Perhaps it’s the one should handle design? ..which incidentally allows for a comfortable fit and avoids the “ second handle fall off shoulder problem”. It is light and user friendly, plus it looks great! The largest size from the first season has been sized down (Liv Tyler’s size is no longer available) but there are 2 sizes to choose from and it is best to come down to try them.

BALENCIAGA – the Blues

So the first drop of Balenciaga SS11 arrived this last week and we were all eager to compare the colours. There are two blues this season, the Nuage which is a bright sky blue colour and the “Ardoise” which is a blue/grey.

Before they arrive instore, we were expecting a colour similar to “Tempete”. It is actually lighter, perhaps closer to Argent…anyway a photo is worth a thousand words – especially when colours are involved. Here they are:

We will do a pink colour comparison soon, as the past seasons of Sorbet, Framboise, and Pivione should be compared with the new Grenadine. We will have to see what is in on the stocklist.

Introducing the BALENCIAGA Butterfly

A new style for SS11, the Butterfly has two slip pockets on each side which are covered by a flap with a zippered pocket detail. The main compartment opens with a long extended zipper and has one exterior zip pocket.

It is a great shape which is also unisex in styling. More than a few customers have commented that the bag would be great bag for a man. It has a organised look to it and the handles are a good length for it to me handheld. It can also be carried under the shoulder quite easily.

These were ordered over a year ago and we are pleased that they have arrived. So many customer have been asking for a silver tone version and this one with the stunning Malachite stone is just stunning.

We also received the Fushia Oval rings, however the glass centre piece has changed and looks more glass-opaque candy pink, compared to previous seasons which were smokey or striped. We will have to take new photos to capture the colour so stayed tuned.

We always get questions on the sizing for these models, but photos of the bags being carried give the best idea of scale. The City and Part-Time both have an additional shoulder strap that can be detached, however the work is only has the double handles.
